Thanks for stopping by this little Gatcomb-centric corner of the internet. We're a small group of L.B. Gatcomb enthusiasts who, for one reason or another, run this here page devoted to the man and his instruments. We started this page in 2011 and in the five years we've been operating it, we went from a laughably small number of photos and serial numbers to the gargantuan Registry we boast today. (Okay, gargantuan is a stretch, but this site is far larger than it was when we first came online.)
Me, I'm Jimmy, and I'm sort of the spokesperson for this outfit (but I think I already told you that in the ABOUT US section). I field emails, update the site (when I can find the time), and deal with sales and trades. Speaking of which, we've set up a new page for sales and trades, which you will find here. On a part time basis, I'm personal assistant to Mr. Gatcomb, the proprietor of Gatcomb Co. of Maine. He is a collector of banjo ephemera and occasionally offers various items for sale and trade, and I am sort of the middleman for those transactions. (More about that can be found in the COLLECTOR'S CORNER.)
I have been a bit lax in my duties as far as updating the site goes. The last year has been a hectic one, for sure. But I'm back at it, adding the photos and serial numbers to The Registry that you sent us. (If you sent me information and it's not appearing on the Registry, please send me a friendly but forceful reminder.)
So look around a bit. If you've got photos or specs that you can share, shoot me an email or head on over to the contact page and leave a message. If you need information about your Gatcomb banjo, let me know how we can be of assistance and I promise you I'll see what we can come up with.
Again, thanks for stopping by, and don't hesitate to drop me a line.
-Jimmy-
P.s. After countless requests from social media users, we have finally set up a fancy-schmancy little Facebook page. Check it out and give us a Like.
